Common Law Admission Test Admission Process

The CLAT admission process is conducted in two stages:

Registration and application:

  • Candidates can apply for CLAT online through the official website of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs).
  • The application process typically opens in August and closes in November.
  • Candidates are required to fill in their personal details, educational qualifications, and other relevant information in the application form.
  • They are also required to upload scanned copies of their supporting documents, such as their mark sheets, certificates, and photographs.
  • After submitting the application form, candidates are required to pay an application fee.

Counselling and admission:

  • After the declaration of CLAT results, eligible candidates are invited to participate in the counselling process.
  • The counselling process is conducted online and candidates are required to register and fill in their preferences for law schools and courses.
  • Seat allotment is done on the basis of candidates’ CLAT rank and their preferences.
  • Candidates are required to accept their allotted seats and pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.

  • Class 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
